Hey there…
Mike here from B Method.
Today we’re taking a closer look at certain foods, fertility superfoods as they’re referred to, that can help boost fertility if consumed regularly.
You may be asking yourself…
“Can certain foods really help with boosting fertility?”
That’s a great question to ask and to be considered, so let’s go ahead and do that right now before going any further.
The answer is YES!
There are certainly foods that do help and aid with boosting fertility.
How do these foods help?
Poor diet, such as how and what we eat regularly, is often tied to low fertility rates.
This has proven to be the case for both men and women.
In addition to regular exercise, that we often talk about and mention here at B Method, a healthy diet is necessary for fertility.
It’s not just a healthy diet, but certain foods; specific foods that have the ability, because of their nutritional content, to boost fertility.
Make it a point to combine the following foods I’m about to mention below with what you are already eating today for a fertility boosting impact.
These are small and simple additions to what you’re currently eating today that will pack a big punch when it comes to boosting fertility.
Here’s a look at 5 foods that can help improve fertility in both males and females.
FERTILITY BOOSTING FOODS FOR HIM
Tomatoes
Tomatoes are one of the best food sources when it comes to the antioxidant, lycopene.
Studies show that lycopene has been found to significantly improve motility (the sperms ability to swim), activity and structure of sperm.
Use tomato puree along with some olive oil to aid in the absorption of this fat-soluble antioxidant that is lycopene.
Oysters
In addition to being known for their natural aphrodisiac, oysters help boost fertility because of their high zinc content. Other zinc rich foods include baked beans, eggs, and walnuts.
Lentils
Lentils are considered one of the richest sources of folate (natural folic acid) which is equally as important for male fertility as it is for female fertility.
Men with lower folate intake often have higher rates of chromosomal abnormalities in their sperm which can affect fertility.
Blueberries
Blueberries contain two of the best, most powerful antioxidants there are (quercetin and resveratrol).
Quercetin helps maintain healthy sperm parameters including motility and quality while resveratrol helps to improve sperm count and motility.
Avocados
Avocados are a great source for vitamin E and essential for fertility. Along with being another powerful antioxidant, it also improves the viability of sperm.
Avocados are considered “healthy fats” and are essential for hormone function.
FERTILITY BOOSTING FOODS FOR HER
Whole Grains
Foods such as pancakes, breads, cornmeal, oatmeal, and even brown rice aid in pregnancy by helping to maintain blood sugar and insulin levels.
Anything that improves insulin function is good for fertility.
Yams & Berries
Yams are full of fertility-friendly vitamins.
Berries on the other hand, such as raspberries and blueberries, are loaded with antioxidants to protect the body from cell damage and ageing, including egg cells. Strawberries and blackberries are also great.
Nuts
A variety of nuts such as almonds and walnuts, both rich in Vitamin E, helps to improve female sex drive while protecting embryos from miscarriages.
Potatoes
Baked potatoes, which are rich in Vitamin B and E, enhance cell division and increase the likelihood of healthy ovaries being produced.
Potatoes also secrete enzymes that help in implantation of fertilized egg and reducing the chances of early miscarriage.
Eggs
Eggs are packed with nutritional sources that boost fertility. They contain Vitamin B12 and folate, both of which minimize birth defects.
Eggs are also rich in antioxidants and carotenoids which also help to boost fertility in women.
Here’s to eating your way to a more fit and fertile you.
Cheers!
